The Captive Animals’ Protection Society

Founded in 1957, Freedom for Animals is a UK-based animal protection charity campaigning against the use of animals in entertainment. Since 1957 we have led the campaign to end the use of animals in circuses.

A blend of undercover investigations, political and educational work has seen the number of animal circuses in the UK decline rapidly, and an increase in the number of councils banning animal circuses from their land.

Freedom for Animals works with other organisations worldwide on issues relating to animal captivity in circuses, zoos and the exotic pet trade.
