Fundraising

Raising funds to support our work is one of the most valuable things that you can do for Freedom for Animals and the animals that we work to protect. Fundraising activities can be fun, rewarding and fantastic experience for anyone interesting in pursuing a career in animal protection. Some fundraising initiatives don’t even require any effort on your part and simply allow us to raise money from things that you do already (recycling ink cartridges or even just using the internet, for example). Below you will find our initiatives grouped into levels from five-minute fundraisers (yes, it can be that simple!) to fundraising ideas for supporters wishing to make a big impact.

Five minute fundraisers

Shop online and raise money (at no cost to you!)

easyfundraising is a shopping directory listing some of your favourite online stores including Amazon, NEXT, Debenhams, John Lewis, Toys R Us, HMV and over 500 others. Just use the links on the easyfundraising site whenever you shop online and, at no extra cost to you, we’ll receive a free donation of up to 15% from every purchase you make. You pay the same prices exactly as if you visited each retailer’s website directly. Using easyfundraising will not cost you a penny more than you would pay normally. It really is that simple!

All you need to do is visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and when you register, select ‘Freedom for Animals’ as the organisation you wish to support.

Recycle your unwanted CDs and DVDs

This brilliant scheme won’t cost you a penny, with a free collect or free postage. In this age of MP3 players, do you have CDs cluttering up your home or do you have a fancy new Blu-ray player, with your old DVDs languishing at the back of a cupboard? If so, please get in touch.

If you can collect at least 100 CD albums/DVDs, please get in touch, and we’ll arrange for a box to be sent to you – 100 disks is worth £50 to Freedom for Animals.  Once full, the box will be collected free of charge!

Even if you have less than 100 items, you can still send them in by free post – and Freedom for Animals will still receive a 50p donation for each one.

Recycle your old jewellery

Please consider making room in your jewellery box for new treasures by donating your old jewellery to Freedom for Animals!

For each item of jewellery, Freedom for Animals will receive 75% of the market value. It might be an odd gold earring, a damaged gold ring, broken silver bracelet or any precious metal or precious/semi-precious stone. You can, of course, also donate complete and undamaged jewellery too!

To donate your jewellery, simply email us or call us on 0845 330 3911 to request a freepost envelope.

Give a Car

A scheme which isn’t as painful on your wallet as the name might suggest! There are many reasons why you might wish to get rid of a car you own – it may have failed its MoT, you may have received a company car or you may want to reduce your CO2 emissions or have chosen to use a bicycle! – the list goes on.  Whatever your reason, please consider using the Give-a-Car scheme. Cars will either be sold for scrap or through an online car action site if it’s more valuable and still roadworthy.

Donating the car is a really painless experience and it won’t cost you a penny – the car is even collected free of charge.

So, if that old Rolls Royce is still sitting in your garage, or the Lamborghini is just getting in your way, or that clapped out old Ford Escort is rusting away on your drive, get in touch with Give a Car and let it raise funds for Freedom for Animals!  For further details, go to Give a Car or phone 0208 875 0478.  And please ensure that you select the ‘Freedom for Animals’ as your chosen registered charity.

Remember Freedom for Animals in your will

Please consider leaving a legacy to Freedom for Animals in your Will. By doing so, you can ensure that your concern and compassion for captive animals will carry on long after you have gone. Legacies form a significant part of Freedom for Animals’ income and are an extremely important part of our income.

Street Collections and Stalls

If you have some time on your hands, why not consider becoming a street collector for Freedom for Animals, or running a stall on our behalf? We can provide literature and posters for maximum impact, as well as organising relevant collecting permits. Please get in touch if you would like to help.

Quizzes, Concerts and much more

There are whole host of fundraising events that you can arrange to support Freedom for Animals. If your local pub holds a quiz night then why not ask them to do one to support us? If you or your friends and family are in a band, you could hold a benefit gig on our behalf. Collection tins in your workplace help to collect those extra pennies and pounds. In fact, the list of ways in which you can help is virtually endless. Remember – a little bit of imagination and enthusiasm can lead to a fantastic fundraising event.
